Castle of the Green Count

Set among Mt. Pirchiriano and Mt. Caprasio at the beginning of Susa Valley in direction of Caprie, you can see the remains of this castle named “Castle of the Green Count”. Built in stages in XIII and XIV centuries the Castrum Capriarum is mentioned from the thirteenth Century as an abbatial castle dependent on the Benedictine Monastery of St. Justus of Susa, but it is likely that previously the height of the castle was equipped with defensive structures that were part of the clusae langobardorum.

domenica 17 settembre, in occasione della giornata del Patrimonio Archeologico della Valle
di Susa il castrum Capriarum sarà aperto con i seguenti orari: 10,00 - 12,30 e 14,30 - 18,00, con animazione a cura del gruppo storico "Vox Condovie".
 
Nella stessa giornata saranno aperti anche la chiesa romanica di San Rocco, la vecchia chiesa parrocchiale di San Pietro e la fucina Col, tutti i siti osserveranno l'orario 10,00 - 12,30 e 14,30 - 18,00.
 
Le aperture estive saranno annullate in caso di pioggia
