Tabor Mount
Nevache
Tabor is traditionally a holy mountain; for someone, his name is very ancient and pre-Christian, while others think it comes from crusades or pilgrimages to the Holy Land. On the top of the mountain stands a chapel, dedicated to the Virgin of Sorrows. It has been a pilgrimage destination for several centuries for people from Bardonecchia, Clarée and upper Maurienne valleys. The chapel, known since the 17th century but more ancient, was rebuilt in 1860 following a vow by the inhabitants of Melezet.
